Well, I've been sewing...never really sewed before. I'm not good at patterns and things. Years ago, someone made these lady bugs for me. I had always wanted to copy them, but never felt confident enough to do it. Until, my friend Audra encouraged me that we could do these bugs. So, with her in tow, I ventured forth into the world of felt sewing. The top picture is of the bugs I've been making. They nest inside each other and have didn't closings in back like zipping and tying and snapping and buttoning. They also teach color combinations--red and blue make purple, etc. Well, I thought the originals were kinda girlie and I wanted the same idea for boys so Jerry suggested I make sports balls that do the same thing--nest inside each other with different closings. So, I branched out and did it. They turned out o.k. and were so much easier than the bugs because they don't have all the legs and anntenae and needle work (sequins, etc.). They're not as educational in that they don't have the color combinations, numbers, etc, but they do teach the dexterity of the bugs. Anyway, been sewing and actually enjoying it!
